3 Good Things + Playdough

On this TGIF day, I’m sharing TG for 3 good things—an (evening) practice I’ve adopted. Easy and great for kids, too, anytime of day!

What is 3 Good Things?

A simple and quick practice to remember good things that happened during the day. And to say thank you for them.

How do You do 3 Good Things?

With lights out, tucked into bed, and eyes closed, ask ‘What were 3 good things today?’

My Recent 3 Good Things

Hearing from a daughter, having another orchid bloom, deciding which books to give away.

Finishing a talk I was giving, receiving new sketches from my illustrator, bringing song to a group at a continuing care community.

A Kiddo’s 3 Good Things

Anything small or large counts. What would your kiddo or student say? Maybe...

I was invited to a party. I found my missing favorite socks. I liked making playdough.

Why 3 Good Things?

The practice has made me more conscious of all the good things surrounding us. That makes me happier. And I sleep better. And look forward—cheerfully—to more good things tomorrow.

What do you do instead of 3 Good Things?

What is your evening practice? If you haven’t one, why not try ‘3 good things’ and let me know how it works for you.

Sleep well and sweet dreams!
